Meet Ready for Rain (Goodbye CoT) RFR #17

In January of 2019, I took on a writing project and promised to publish one personal essay per week for all of 2019. So far, I’ve kept the promise. In fact, this project has been a real source of satisfaction that I’m sure will continue.

The project started under the name Camping on Tuesdays and existed as a newsletter and a publication on Medium. I thought that publishing on Medium might offer a bit of visibility for the newsletter and potentially attract some readers. Now that about one-third of the year has elapsed, I’m making some changes.

New Name, New Home

The newsletter will now be known by the name Ready for Rain (RFR) and the home of my writing will be GetReadyforRain.com.

The name Camping on Tuesdays is being set aside for another project in the future and the Medium publication has been deleted. All the previous essays remain as part of my Medium profile.

If you’re curious, Ready for Rain is the title of a popular essay I wrote a few years back. To me, the name relates to the Pacific Northwest and a perspective Sachi and I share.

In the midst of these changes, I am trying to figure out if I should still post the weekly essays on Medium. The essays don’t get much traffic or engagement, which could be a factor of the content as much as anything. At the same time, I am fully devoted to the newsletter and want to see encourage subscribers there. One option is to post an excerpt each time a new issue of the newsletter is published. Thoughts?

I’d love to have you as a newsletter subscriber. Read all past issues and subscribe at GetReadyforRain.com.
